| One of the key designs for Witchtales is a spell research system. This starts from basic templates and allows the player to research the spell to further gain proficiency with it. The attributes that can be researched include damage, accuracy, stability, complexity, and weaving multiple spells together, such as dual damage types. In addition to offensive spells, there are 4 other planned spellbooks, more info to come.

| Another big aspect planned for the game is the creation of a variety of magical items such as potions, charms, wands, staffs, and many others. These are player made via a number of skills, and largely used to enhance the player in combat.
